Understanding Uniform Sizes

Sometimes, uniform labels and sizes can be a bit of a minefield if you don’t understand them. This page aims to help you decode them into plain imperial and metric measurements.

Conversions are as close as they need to be (to the nearest inch or centimetre). With most military clothing there is a little leeway and it is rare that uniforms are perfectly fitted to any given individual without tailoring.

Bear in mind that some uniforms may fit you on paper, but have other measurements that may not actually fit you. For example original WWII British Jodhpurs have extremely small calves.

If there is a measurement system not featured here please do get in touch and I will do my best to find and publish details. You can get in touch via: enquiries.vintageairsoft@gmail.com

*Please note that Denison Smocks do not conform to this sizing chart. They are also much larger than their stated sizes.
